👉 Little story:
Obsidian has been known since prehistoric times: this volcanic glass was cut to make arrowheads, knives and cutting tools, because its conchoidal fracture produces extremely sharp blades. Its name comes from the Roman Obsius , who is said to have brought back a similar stone from Ethiopia.
Celestial Eye Obsidian , rarer than classic black obsidian, was considered by Mesoamerican peoples (Aztecs, Mayans) as a magical and protective stone. It was worked into ritual mirrors used by priests and shamans to "see" into the invisible and communicate with spirits.
In traditions, its eye-shaped motif symbolizes divine protection : it was said to send evil back to its sender, and to allow the wearer to access a deeper understanding of their being and the universe.
Even today, it is considered a stone of introspection and inner truth , a mirror of the soul that helps to face its dark areas.
