About: Solids were used by the Greek philosopher Plato (400 BC) to symbolize the five elements of the World.

There is :
- the earth represented by the Cube
- water by the Icosahedron
- fire by the Tetrahedron
- the air by the Octahedron and the Universe embodied by the Dodecahedron.

Why only 5 platonic solids?

There are only five Platonic solids due to their requirement to have equal polygonal faces whose internal angles add up to less than 360 degrees when the angle is multiplied by the number of polygons that meet at the vertices.

The ancient scholar Plato believed that the universe was constructed from five solids. Four of these represented earth, air, water, and fire, while the rest were "the fifth element." This is why they are called the Platonic solids.

Sacred geometry is the study of the world's shapes and geometries. Sacred geometry researchers seek order in our universe: Are there patterns that we find? Why? How do nature and humans use them?

For these researchers, the beauty of nature (but also of art or architecture) is based on an underlying geometry.

There are links between Platonic solids and sacred geometry:
✔️ they are called the “five Golden Volumes” because their isometry reveals their perfection;
✔️ all forms in the Universe are based on the forms contained in the Platonic solids (+ the sphere and the merkaba): they are called the primordial forms;
✔️ If we nest the Platonic solids within each other, we obtain stable elements that are found in nature (oxygen, silicon, iron, etc.). Laurence Hecht, physicist, uses Moon's model (the nesting of solids) to search for a certain coherence in matter, a coherence that reveals the Platonic solids.
✔️ Platonic solids are found in other sacred geometry symbols, such as Metatron's cube or the flower of life...
