About: Dowsing Rods

Although dowsing rods can be used to obtain traditional pendulum responses (yes/no/maybe), they are primarily used for:
- the search for water, minerals and geopathic stress lines
- the search for lost objects
- measurement of people's aura and individual chakra

A dowsing rod with a 3 to 1 size ratio (long end to handles) will have good balance. Dowsing rods are usually made of copper or brass and coated with plastic or copper. This allows the rod to rotate easily.

Maintaining and balancing the rods - The Position

Hold the rods firmly but loosely, with your index finger pointing down about 2 cm from the top of the handles. With a rod in each hand and your arms bent at 90 degrees, hold the rods pointing away from your body and parallel to the floor. You may find it easier to stabilize the rods if you bring your arms close to your body, elbows at your waist.

Determining your “found” position

To determine your position, you need to decide whether you want the stems to cross (form an X) or open wide (form a horizontal line) over the found element. Either method works, as long as you determine what you want before you begin. Once you've determined your "found" position, you're ready to go.
