Green Tara (Tara Chittamani) is a female manifestation of enlightened energy, very popular in Tibetan Buddhism.
There are 21 manifestations of Tara; the most important are White Tara and Green Tara. Typical for her manifestation are the seven eyes on the face, on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet.
Green Tara sits in the lotus position.
In her left hand she holds a blue Uptala flower.
Every month, the 21 verses of Green Tara are recited in all Buddhist spiritual communities, to pacify and overcome obstacles.
Reciting the Green Tara mantra neutralizes known and unknown fears.
The mantra is: OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA.
