The Campo del Cielo ("Field of Heaven") meteorite fell to Earth about 4,000 to 5,000 years ago in the Chaco region of Argentina . Indigenous peoples were already familiar with these celestial fragments and used them to make tools and ritual objects, considering this material from the sky to be sacred.

In 1576, Spanish settlers officially discovered the site and named it after it. Since then, thousands of fragments have been found, some weighing several tons, evidence of a vast celestial body that fragmented upon entering the atmosphere.

Today, the Campo del Cielo is one of the most famous and accessible meteorites. It remains associated with cosmic power, protection, and the connection between heaven and Earth .
